hayawahtaa Hayewatha Belt

21" x 13 1'4" Hayewatha Belt or Five Nations Territorial Belt This wampum belt represents the forming of the Confederacy. The original was created before European contact during the acceptance of The Great Law. The first two squares are the territory of the Mohawk and Oneida Nations. The Great tree in the centre is the heart of the confederacy, the Ondondaga Nation. The tree is the Great White Pine where each nation laid down their weapons of war and made an agreement to always have peace between these 5 Nations forevermore. The last 2 squares are the territories of the Cayuga and Seneca Nations.

The roll call of the fifty chiefs in the Iroquois Confederacy. The Condolence canes we make have the old Iroquoian style bent hickory handle. Not exactly as shown in this picture. Ken also makes the handles from deer antler or cow horn for $500. Or, a very unique handle which is made from deer antler and cow horn combined for $1000.
